MATCH was set up in 1979 to provide support to mothers who have lost contact with their children, this could be over a period of months, years or even permenantly.
MATCH is entirely run by volunteers who have experience with separation from their children first hand. They are here to provide help, advice, in a non-judgemental capacity, to any mothers who are experiencing difficulty in coping with being separated from their children.
It is a sad reflection of the society that we now find ourselves in that the traditional family structure is being constantly eroded. In an ever fractured society, there is support in as many different forms as there are problems. Specifically, MATCH provides a pillar of strength for people who need help, mothers who have lost contact with their children for a variety of reasons (child is in care, divorce, adoption, abduction mental illness, physical illness, parental alienation).
It is of equal importance to realise that, in the same manner that Fathers For Justice have tirelessly campaigned for equal rights to access to their children, mothers are of equal importance to the family unit.
In September 2006 MATCH was granted charitable status after 28 years as a self-help group.
Mother's Day 2008 fell on March 2nd and we felt it was more than appropriate to raise the awareness of the work that MATCH does and lend our support by making MATCH charity of the month.
You can support MATCH by using the Save for a Change energy comparison service to switch energy providers, we will then make a donation to MATCH on your behalf (£5 per fuel). Whether you are looking to reduce the cost of your household bills, improve your 'Carbon Footprint', or just simply want to get away from your current provider - our service is completely 100% free & impartial. So get switching and pass on your 'change points' to mothers apart from their children!
